Documentary Post Production Diary
Video editing in progress
In this first screenshot, I have already just finished recording footage (Provided that I was helped by others) I have accessed my External hard drive and dragged the footage to my newly opened project on premiere pro and so the editing process begins.
What I have done next is dragging the footage in, I am now able to merge and edit the footage in any way of my liking such as audio, sound and visual effects, text and more etc.
So far all I have at the moment is just raw and unfinished footage, none of it is edited at all besides being all merged together, it is time to begin the process of editing.
To add audio or other videos i used a YouTube mp3/4 converter, it allows me to access and download and use videos from other media, obviously when using someone else's footage or video I do not take any ownership and obviously do not make profit out of it, otherwise that is against the copyright law.
Anyways here is how the process works; the first thing i do is to find the video on YouTube, for instance I want to download an mp4 tv static effect so I can add this for my effects, so in order to do this i have to also open a mp3/4 converter website, there are different versions, the one I opened up allowed me to download already existing videos that are uploaded to YouTube i saved it to the computer and opened the files
.
.
After I've done this process I repeated some of my edits to piece together a documentary, i have then exported the video and uploaded it to YouTube, I have now have my final product ready.
The video I have uploaded is set to unlisted so it can only be exclusively viewed by a selected audience such as anyone who has a link to the video.
So what problems have I faced during editing and uploading?
Overall what I have experienced is mostly technical difficulties with the computers such as when a computer crashes halfway through editing causing my files to be erased which takes a lot of hard work and because of what happened this drains a lot of my motivation, in addition I have also experienced that when I download an audio clip some of it can be already loud or more quieter then others so I had to regularly adjust the volume.
The next group of problems is that when exporting and rendering my work the performance of the computer is slow and it took 2-3 hours to upload which wastes a lot of valuable lesson time, it even took me another hour to get it to upload to YouTube on top of that, on top of all that sometimes the upload fails because according to the computer some of the files were apparently missing so i had to redo this and re-edit my project just to get the uploading to work.
Thankfully with enough time and patience I successfully managed to get my final version of my project uploaded to YouTube and ready for submission.
